Current Reads

Sew U by Wendy Mullin is a good primer for sewing clothing and includes three patterns for skirts, pants and shirt. The first few chapters start with very basic information about fabric, notions and tools, sewing basics, etc. Experienced sewers may find this too elementary, but I picked up some great tips. I haven’t cracked open the patterns yet…I’ll start slow with some basic childrens clothing.

I just borrowed The Creative Family by Amanda Blake Soule from the library and am still in the introduction. It contains many great ideas to encourage creativity within your home. In the introduction, she relays how having children awakened her creativity which has been the case for me.
